The resistance will be half of total resistance in each part as it is divided in two equal parts when diameterically a wire is connected and the both resistance are in parallel.
So ,
1/(1*5/2) + 1 / (1*5/2) = 1/R
20/25 = 1/R
therefore, R = 25/20 = 2.5/2 = 1.25 ohms
this is your answer
So ,
1/(1*5/2) + 1 / (1*5/2) = 1/R
20/25 = 1/R
therefore, R = 25/20 = 2.5/2 = 1.25 ohms
