The resistance of the wire is directly proportional to the length. When it gets tripled on itself, the single wire gets converted into 3 wires each of 3 Ω resistance.

Resistance of each wire = 3 Ω

Now, the single wire has become into three wires which are connected in parallel because it is getting tripled on itself

Hence, using the parallel formula:

\frac{1}{R_e_q} = \frac{1}{3} + \frac{1}{3} + \frac{1}{3}

R_e_q = \frac{3}{3}

R = 1 Ω

Hence, the new resistance is 1 Ω
