A wire of resistivity X is stretched to double the its length.what is its new resistivity

Here is the answer .

The resistivity of a wire is it's intrinsic property.

It doesn't depend upon the length and area.

Resistance depend upon length and area and resistivity as

R = p L/A

So, the resistivity will remain the same even when the wire is stretched . Resistance will change.
