A wire ring of 0.03m radius is rested on the surface of a liquid and then raised the full required is 0.003kg weight more before the fill breaks then it is after find the surface tension of liquid.

The surface tension of liquid is 0.15924 N/m

Radius of wire, r = 3cm

we know, effective length for wire , L = 2π(r)

  • L = 2 × 3.14 × (3) × 10^{-2} m

  • L = 6.28 × 3 × 10^{-2} m

  • L =  18.84 x 10^{-2}m = 0.1884 m

  • force , F = mg = 3g × 10m/s²

  • = 3 × 10^{-3} × 10 = 0.03N

now, surface tension, S = F/L = 0.03/0.1884

  • S = 0.15924 N/m
