given a wire is bent in the shape of a square of side 14cm
I.e., s=14cm
given same wire is bent in the shape of a rectangle whose length and breadth are in the ratio 4:3
let the length of rectangle=4x
breadth of rectangle=3x
given that same wire is bent in the shape of rectangle from square
I.e., perimeter of square = perimeter of rectangle
4*s=2(l+b)
4*14=2(4x+3x)
56=2(7x)
7x=56/2
7x=28
x=28/7
x=4
now
l=4x
=4(4)
=16cm
b=3x
=3(4)
=12cm
area of square = s^2
=14^2
=196cm^2
area of rectangle = l*b
=16*12
=192cm^2
therefore length of rectangle is 16cm
breadth of rectangle is 12cm
area of square is more than area of rectangle by 4cm^2
