F2/A2 ÷ ΔL2/L2  = F1/A1 ÷ ΔL1/L1  , F2 = F1 , L2 = L1

then

1/A2 ÷ ΔL2 = 1/A1 ÷ ΔL1

ΔL2A2 =  ΔL1A1

ΔL2 =  ΔL1A1/A2 = ΔL1A1/3A1 = ΔL1/3 = 1/3 mm
