1) Amoeba feeds on micro organisms like bacteria.

2) When it comes in contact of the food it develops a pseudopodia (false feet) around the food particle

3) The food gets trapped in the food vacuole and then the digestive juices are secreted in the vacuole to digest the food

4) At last the undigested waste is removed out from the body by the process of egestion

In this process, a solid food particle is first surrounded by pseudopodia (cytoplasmic filled projection of cell membrane) and forms a vacuole called as phagosome. The vacuole fuses with lysosome to form phagolysosome where the digestion of food takes place with the help of digestive enzymes.
