SOLUTION :
Let the stake money of first hen-owner be ₹ x and of second hen-owner be ₹y.
A.T.Q
Case : 1
x− 3y/4 = 12
(4x − 3y) /4= 12
(4x − 3y) = 12× 4
4x – 3y = 48 …………….(1)
Case :2
y−2x/3 = 12
(3y − 2x)/3 =12
3y − 2x = 12× 3
3y – 2x = 36
-2x +3y = 36…………..(2)
On adding eq 1 & 2,
4x – 3y = 48
-2x +3y = 36
-------------
2x = 84
x = 84/2
x = 42
Putting x = 42 in eq (2) we get,
-2x +3y = 36
-2× 42 + 3y = 36
-84+3y = 36
3y = 36 +84
3y = 120
y = 120/3
y = 40
Hence the stake of money of first hen-owner is ₹ 42 and of second hen-owner is ₹ 40.
