no.of eggs woman bought = 50*12 = 600
cost of one dozen egg = 6.40
cost of 50 dozen eggs = 50*6.40 = 320
no. of broken eggs = 20
remaining eggs = 600-20=580
her selling price per one egg = 55 paise = rs.0.55
total cost for 580 eggs = 580*0.55=319
here the money she spend is more than she gained.
her loss = 320-319= 1
= 1 .
in percentage =1.0031347962

Answer:

Loss, by 0.3125

Step-by-step explanation:

rs per dozen= 6.40

dozens she bought= 50

broken eggs= 20

eggs she bought=50×12 = 600

not broken eggs= 600₋20= 580

SP= 55 paise= rs 0.55

total cost for 580 eggs= 580×0.55=319

∴it's a loss CP>SP , 320>319

Loss%= loss/cp × 100

          = 1/320 × 100

          = 5/16

          =0.3125
