Answer:

12,000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

A woman buys toffees at Rs. 2.50 per dozen and an equal number more a

Rs. 3 a score. She sells them all at Rs. 3,60 per score. She made a profit of

Rs. 10. How many toffees did she sell?.

ANSWER

Cost price of one toffee will be 2.50 / 12 in the first time

Cost price of one toffee will be 3/20 in the second time.

Let total number of toffees be p

First time Cost price = 2.50 / 12  x p/2 = 2.50 p/24

Second time cost price = 3/20 x p/2 = 3 p / 40

Now total cost price will be 2.50 p/24 + 3 p/40

                                         = 2.50 p/24 + 3p/40

                                    = 12.50 p + 9 p/120

                                 = 21.50 p/120

Selling price of one toffee = 3.60/20

So selling price for all toffees = 3.60 p / 20

 3.60 p / 20 – 21.50 p / 120

 Taking lcm we get

 21.60 p – 21.50 p / 120

 0.10 p /120

Now she made a profit of Rs 10

So 0.10 p / 120 = 10

0.10 p = 1200

p = 1200 /0.10

p = 12,000

So she sold 12,000 toffees
