Because of the X chromosome that females contribute ..females have only X chromosome whime men have both XY therefore the sex of the child depend on the father's contribution if its Y then it becomes XY Which means baby would be a boy and if father contributes X chromosome it becomes XX and the baby would be a girl

Father contributed X and Y chromosomes. But fertilisation happened with only X chromosomes
