Given :-

  • CD = 2 m

  • DE = 2 m

To find :-

  • Displacement (CE) = ?

Concept :-

☛ Displacement is the shortest distance between initial and Final point of moving object with particular direction.

  • It is a vector quantity.
  • SI unit of displacement is m.
  • CGS unit of displacement is cm.
  • Displacement may be positive, negative and zero.

Solution :-

\rm\:Displacement\:(CE)=\sqrt{({CD)}^{2}+{(DE)}^{2}}

\rm\:Displacement\:(CE)=\sqrt{{(2m)}^{2}+{(2m)}^{2}}

\rm\:Displacement\:(CE)=\sqrt{{4m}^{2}+{4m}^{2}}

\rm\:Displacement\:(CE)=\sqrt{8{m}^{2}}

\rm\:Displacement\:(CE)=2\sqrt{2}\:m

\rm\:Displacement\:(CE)=2\times{1.414}

\rm\:Displacement\:(CE)=2.828\:m
