Given :-

• Total number of notes = 60.
• Total worth of 60 notes = ₹ 850.

To Find :-

• Number of notes of each kind she has.

Solution :-

Let the number of ₹ 10 notes be x and ₹ 20 notes be y.

According to the question,

⇒ x + y = 60......( 1 )

And,

⇒ 10x + 20y = 850

⇒ x + 2y = 85.....( 2 )

Equation ( 1 ) - equation ( 2 ) gives,

⇒ -y = -25

⇒ y = 25

Substituting the value of y in ( 1 ), gives,

⇒ x + 25 = 60

⇒ x = 60 - 25

⇒ x = 35

Hence,

• Number of ₹ 10 notes = 35.
• Number of ₹ 20 notes = 25.
