force acting on a body is given by:

F=ma(F and a is vector quantity)-------(i)

where,

m- mass of body ; and a- acceleration of body

while work done by the body after covering the distance 'd' is given by:

W=F.d(F and d are vector quantity)----(ii)

using above relation we will first find the force acting on body ,which is given by

F=ma

F=8kg*5m/s

=40kg m/s=40N

now, we know the work done by body so we will find the distance covered by body

using (ii) relation W=F.d=Fdcos@

@=0

so,

w

W=F*d*cos0

=F*d [(cos0=1)]

therefore,

10J=40N*d

d=10J/40N

d=0.25m

=25cm

so,distance covered by wood block is 0.25m or 25cm.
