Total length of the wooden pole = 12 meters

And each cut wastes 10 cm of pole . So 5 cut wastes 10*5=50 cm .

So remaining wood is

12m -50cm = 12m -0.5 cm = 11.5cm

Let each section be of length x meters .

And there are 5 sections

5x=11.5
\\
x= 2.3 m

So each section is of length 2.3 meters .
