final answer:-

total surface area of wooden article is 374\:cm^{2}

given:-

  • height of the cylinder (h) is 10 cm
  • as well as radius of cylinder (r) is same as base is 3.5 cm
  • base is a radius (r) is 3.5 cm

to find:-

the total surface area of wooden article

formulas used:-

  • CSA\:of \:cylinder =2\pi rh
  • CSA \:of\:hemisphere=2\pi r^{2}

solution:-

Total surface area of the article =Curved surface area of the cylinder +2 surface area of a hemisphere

=2\pi r h + 2 (2\pi r^{2})\\=2*\frac{22}{7}*3.5*10+2(2*\frac{22}{7}*3.5*3.5)\\=220+2(77)\\=220+154\\=374\:cm^{2}

some extra formulas:-

TSA\:of\:cylinder=2\pi rh +2\pi r^{2}\\TSA\:of\:hemisphere=3\pi r^{2}\\TSA\:of\:sphere=4\pi r^{2}\\TSA\:of\:cone=\pi r(r+l)\:\:or\:\: \pi rl + \pi r^{2}\\TSA\:of\:cube=6s^{2}\\TSA\:of\:cuboid=2(lb+lh+bh)
