Given :

  • Dimensions of wooden block are :
  • length : 2m
  • breadth : 1 m
  • Width : 0.5 m

  • Density of wooden block = 800 kg/m³

To find :

  • The mass of the wooden block .

Solution :

  • By the formula of mass density :

  \boxed{\tt \red{density}=  \frac{mass}{volume}}

 \underline{\therefore \tt mass = density \times volume}

So , to find mass , we first need to calculate the volume of the wooden block .

  • Volume = length × Breadth × Height

= 2 × 1 × 0.5

= 1 m³

  • Volume = 1 m³
  • Density = 800 kg/m³

Mass = 800 × 1

Mass = 800 kg

  • The amount of matter present in a substance is called its mass . It is a fixed quantity and doesn't change anywhere in the universe. Every body had some mass.

  • The amount of space enclosed within a substance is called its volume .

  • The physical quantity that gives how densely or loosely the molecules in a substance are present is called density . It determines if the body will float or sink in water .
