Volume of the cube will be,

(70-3)×(60-3)×(40-3) = 67×57×37 = 141303cm³

Since weight of 100cm³ is 10grams therefore 141303cm³ will weigh 14130.3grams.

Capacity of the box is 117504cm³.

Weight of the box is 5.0496 kg.

Given data :

Box dimensions = 70cm × 60cm × 40cm

Thickness of the wood = 3 cm

Weight of 100cm³ wood = 10 gram

So,

The dimensions of the inner hollow space = (70-6)×(60-6)×(40-6) = 64cm × 54cm × 34cm

[3cm less from two sides for each dimension =(3×2)=6cm]

So,the capacity of the box = (64cm×54cm×34cm) = 117504cm³(answer)

Volume of the total box (including wood) = (70cm×60cm×40cm) = 168000 cm³

So,the volume of the wood = (16800-117504) = 50496cm³

100 cm³ wood = 10 gram

1 cm³ wood = 10/100 gram

50496 cm³ wood = 50496/10 gram = 5049.6 gram = 5.0496 kg (answer).
