hi, a wooden chair has a definite volume and definite shape.It is rigid and cannot be compressed. It has characteristics of a solid.hence a wooden chair is a solid at room temperature.

The chair is in solid state at room temperature because it will obeys every characteristic of solid at the room temperature.

Properties of solid at room temperature are:

  • The Molecules of solids are tightly packed thus they will not be allowed to move freely like that of liquids.  
  • The molecules posses definite dimension i.e shape and size in nature, due to which they are highly in compressible in nature.
  • The molecules are Hard in nature.
