A wooden container is in the form of a cuboid whose external measures are 80 cm × 30 cm × 40 cm. The base, side face and back face are to be covered with a coloured paper. Find the area of the paper needed?​

Given length =80cm

breath=30cm

Height =40cm

Leatral surface area of cuboid = 2h (l+b)

=2 X 40 (80+30) = 80 X 110 = 8800cm^2

Now area of front side = l X h

80x40 =3200cm^2

And area of bottom = l X b

80 X 30 = 2400cm^2

Total area to cover with paper = Leatral area of cubot+ area of bottom - area of front

=8800+2400-3200= 8000 cm^2
