Let’s consider the sides of the cube as l. Now when one adds 400 gm of mass, the cube submerges by 1 cm, the total volume that goes under water is l2cc. Since water has a density of 1gm/cc, we can equate this added mass to 400 cc of water. Now equating both the volumes, we obtain, l2=400 and therefore l is 20 cm. Thus height of the cube is 20 cm.

Hope this will help you.... ✌
