A wooden cube just floats inside water when a 200g mass is placed on it

Answer:

density of wood is less than density of water so it floats.

now if 200g mass is placed over it then the pressure exerted by 200g mass on wood must be less than the up thrust or the force exerted by water on the wood so it still floats.
