A wooden cube of side 10 cm has mass 700 g. What part of it remains above the water surface while floating vertically on the water surface?
Ans 3 cm in height​

Density of body

Density of cube =

=0.7g/cm

So, density of water =1g/cm

3

So, part of cube submerged in water =

Density of water

Density of body

=0.7/1=7/10

∴ Part of cube above water =1−7/10=3/10

i.e. 3cm of cube is above water.
