Answer:

h = 12.25 meters

Explanation:

40gh = 4900 J

g = 10

h = 49/4

h = 12.25 meters

Answer :

Work done in lifting the load = 4900J

Mass of road = 40kg

We have to find the height through which the load is lifted.

★ As per work-energy theorem, Work done is measured as the change of potential/kinetic energy of body.

Potential energy is a relative quantity. Therefore potential energy at reference point is taken zero.

➤ Potential energy of body of mass m at height h from reference point is given by

  • U = mgh

⭆ W = ∆(PE)

⭆ W = mgh - 0

⭆ 4900 = 40 × 9.8 × h

⭆ h = 4900/392

h = 12.5m
