Answer :

Load = 65N

Load arm = 10cm = 0.1m

Effort arm = 60cm = 0.6m

We have to find mechanical advantage of the lever.

★ First of all we need to find effort.

According to the principle of lever

  • L × LA = E × EA

L denotes load

LA denotes load arm

E denotes effort

EA denotes effort arm

By substituting the given values, we get

➠ E = L × (LA/EA)

➠ E = 65 × 0.1/0.6

E = 65/6 N

Mechanical advantage of lever can be calculated by using this formula,

  • MA = Load/Effort

➙ MA = L/E

➙ MA = 65/(65/6)

MA = 6

Mechanical advantage of the lever is 6.
