Given : a worker was engaged for a certain number of day and was promised to be paid rs  1755.

he remained absent for some days and was paid only rs 1365 only

Amount per day is integer

To Find : Max possible Amount per day

185

195

Solution:

Number of days  = d

number of days worked = x

Number of days not worked = d - x

1755/d  = 1365/x = ( 1755 - 1365)/(d - x)

=> 1755/d  = 1365/x = (390)/(d - x)

1755 = 3 * 3 * 3 * 5 * 13

1365 = 3 * 5 * 7 * 13

390 = 2 * 3 * 5 * 13

HCF = 3 * 5 *13  = 195

Hence 195  Rs  per  day

Hired for 9 days , absent for 2 days , worked for 7 days

1755/9  = 1365/7  = 195
