Solution :-

Let us assume that, the length of original pipe is x m .

Than,

given that, workman cut of (1/5)th of pipe , and the piece he cut off was 3 m long.

So, we can say that,

→ (1/5) of original length = 3m

→ (1/5) of x = 3 m.

→ (1/5) * x = 3 m.

→ x = 5 * 3

→ x = 15m (Ans.)

Hence, Length of original Pipe was 15m.
