according to the problem  ,A works twice faster as B

then 2A = B ................. Equation (1)

given,

work completed by b=12 days

then from equation (1)

2A =B=12

2A = 12 and B=12

A = 12/2

A=6 days

the work time in ratio A/B= 6/12

                                          =1/2

1 day's work of A= 1/6

1 days's work of B=1/12

1 day's work of A and B

=1/6 + 1/12

=3/12

=1/4

=1/4 *work of time ratio

=1/4*1/2

=1/8

so, A and B finished their work in 8 days
