A works twice as fast as B. They work together and complete a job in 8 days. How long would A take to complete the job?

Your newborn may be vulnerable to these 6 serious diseases.

Let us assume A’s effort for the work is x (per day) ,

As, A works twice as fast as B, so, B’s effort for the work is 0.5x (per day)

Thus , in a day both A & B spend 1.5x amount of effort.

They complete the task in 8 days, tat means the total amount of effort spend by both working together is 1.5x*8 = 12x

By this we can conclude that this job need 12x amount of effort to be completed

As, a provides x amount of effort per day, it will require 12 days to complete the job.

GIVEN :-

A works twice as fast as B

They work together to complete job in 8 days.

TO FIND :-

Time taken by A to complete the job.

SOLUTION :-

Let A took 'x' days to complete the job.

Time taken by B = 2x days.

They work together and complete a job in 8 days.

(1/x) + 1/2x = 1/8

=> 3/2x = 1/8

=> 24 = 12x

=> x = 12

Hence, A takes 12 days to complete the job
