The aspherical model of the earth is considered a globe. It is regarded as territorial global since it represents maps on the surface and it is also called a celestial globe based on the model of the celestial sphere.

It represents the longitudes and latitudes which are imaginary lines that act as spherical coordinate systems. It also shows landmass and water bodies on the terrestrial globe. Through the center of the earth the equator passes which divides the earth into the Northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere.

The advantages of the globe are :

1. Global is a three dimensional spherical model of planet earth. It shows the exact position of continents, countries, oceans, and seas. It covers the area in a broader form.

2. It shows the exact shape of the earth that is slightly spherical, flattened at the poles, and bulges at the equator.

3. The physical features are more accurately shown. It represents the true landscape.

4. It provides the idea of the tilt of Earth’s axis

5. The difference between one region to another is shown with accuracy. It also represents directions.
