The basic form of the adjective is called as Postive degree

When you compare two things (or) persons having same quality , the adjective is in the Comparitive degree.(addition of er and more in the comparitive degree)

When you compare two things or persons having the same quality , the adjective is in the Superlative degree.(addition of est and most in superlative degree)
