a)name of the functional group in CH3COCH3.: Ketone
b)unsaturated hydrocarbons like alkenes and alkynes burns with sooty flame.
c)Methane burns in oxygen to produce Co2 and water
CH4 +2O2 ----> CO2 +2H2O
d)Soap moelcule contains two parts :
Hydrophilic part - Polar end
Hydrophobic part-- Non polar end
Hydrophobic end dissolves in dirt and grease Hydrophilic end dissolves in water.
Thus more molecules of soap are attached to dirt having one end suspended in water to form a spherical aggregate called Micelle.
Micelle formation does not occur in alcohol [ethanol ] because the alkyl group of soap becomes soluble in alcohol.
