Solution :-

Given that, yard has a square gate that has an area of 9 m².

Let side of gate is x m.

Than,

→ Area of gate = (side)²

→ x² = 9 m²

→ x² = (3)²

x = 3m.

we know that, each side of square are same.

Therefore,

(i) The height of the gate in meters = 3 meters. (Ans.)

(ii)

given that,

→ 1 meter = 3 feet .

So,

3 meter = 3 * 3 = 9 feet .(Ans.)

(iii)

If each side was 1 foot longer, than,

→ Each side of square gate = 9 + 1 = 10 feet .

So,

New area of square gate = (10)² = 100 feet². (Ans.)
