A young boy is driving a scooter at a fast speed of 120km/h , suddenly he sees a dead animal in the middle of a narrow land and applies crash brakes to stop the scooter in a time of 15 sec. If the scooter turns to rest after the break has been applied with in 15 sec, what is the force applied by the brakes of the scooter ?

Here,

u= 120 kmph

= 120×5/18 m/a

= 20×5/3 m/s

= 100/3 m/s

v=0 m/a

so, retardation= (u-v)/t

= 100/3×15

= 20/9 m/s^2

therefore, force applied= ma

= 160kg×20/9 m/s^2

= 3200/9 Newton

= 355.56 Approximately
