A young green plant was kept such that it receives sunlight from one direction only.what will be the consequence of it on shoots and roots ?

The shoots of the plant will bend towards the light whereas roots will bend away from light.

Consequence of young green plant receiving sunlight from one direction:

At the tip of the plant a growth hormone called Auxin is located. When sunlight falls from above, the Auxin at the tip of plant spreads uniformly and leads to uniform growth of the plant.

On the other hand when the plant receives light only on one direction, the Auxin moves to the other direction and it leads to growth in one direction of the shoot.

This phenomenon doesn’t have any effect on the root of the plant.
