A zinc plate was put into a solution of copper sulphate kept in a container. It
found that blue colour of the solution gets fader und der with the passage of time. After
few days, when zinc plate was taken out of the solution a number of holes were observed
on it
(1) State the reason for changes observed on the zinc plate
(2) Write the chemical equation for the reaction involved.

1. The Zinc metal is more reactive than copper. So it displaces copper from its solution to form Zinc Sulphate. That's why holes are formed in zinc plate.

2.

Zn + CuSO4 - - - - > ZnSO4 + Cu.

Hope it helps.
