A1×A1=121 then value of A = 1

Given:

A1×A1=121

To Find:

Value of A

Solution

A1×A1=121

=> (10A + 1) (10A + 1) = 121

=> 100A² + 20A + 1 = 121

=> 100A² + 20A = 120

=> 10A² + 2A  = 12

=> 5A² + A = 6

=> 5A² + A - 6  = 0

Using middle term split

=> 5A² + 6A - 5A - 6 = 0

Rearranging the terms

=> 5A² - 5A + 6A - 6 = 0

Taking common factors

=> 5A(A - 1) + 6(A - 1) = 0

=> (5A + 6)(A - 1) = 0

=> A = -6/5 , A = 1

A is a digit hence can not be -6/5

=> A = 1

Value of A is 1
