Solution :

Given two expressions are

a² + b² + 2ab and 3a² - 2ab + 5b²

Now ,

Subtracting second expression from

first , we get

a² + b² + 2ab - ( 3a² - 2ab + 5b² )

= a² + b² + 2ab - 3a² + 2ab - 5b²

= a² - 3a² + b² - 5b² + 2ab + 2ab

= ( 1 - 3 )a² + ( 1 - 5 )b² + ( 2 + 2 )ab

= -2a² - 4b² + 4ab
