Given Equation is a^2 - x^2 - 2xy - y^2

= > a^2 + ax - ax - x^2 - xy - xy + ay - ay - y^2

= > a^2 + ax + ay - ax - x^2 - xy - ay - xy - y^2

= > a(a + x + y) - x(a + x + y) - y(a + x + y)

= > (a - x - y)(a + x + y).

Hope it helps!
