yes he can help him in many ways it would be easy for his mother he should clean the floor, help him to clean the utensils and make food it's small work for our mom

Yes,sure he/she should do but first s/he need to focus on his/her studies and if s/he have any time left and his/her mother need help they can do it even if they didn't need help you can help your mother and share the burden she have thanks . checkout my answers too
