QUESTION :-

A(ΔABD) is right- angled at A. AC is perpendicular to BD. If AB = 5cm, BD = 15cm and AD = 12cm. Find the area of AABD. Also find the length of AC.

SOLUTION :-

=> AB = 5cm, BD = 15cm, and AD = 12cm -(given)

=> Area of triangle = ½×base×height

=>A(ΔABD) = ½ × AB × AD

=>A(ΔABD) = ½ × 5 × 12

=> A(ΔABD) = 5 × 6

=> A(ΔABD) = 30cm²

Now,

=> A(ΔABD) = ½ × b × h

=> A(ΔABD) = ½ × BD × AC

=> .°. 30 = ½ × 15 × AC --- (°.°A(ΔABD) = 30cm²)

=> .°. 30 = 7.5 ×AC

=> AC = 30/7.5

=> AC = 4cm.

ANSWER :- the area of A(ΔABD) is 30cm² and length of AC is 4cm.
