Answer:
It was like a dream come true when I met him, I was travelling to India for a week related to work from US, and it was in my mind to see/meet him if possible. The day I landed was a Sunday and Amit Ji usually meets (more of a Darshan) his fans every Sunday if he is in Mumbai. Its not easy to meet him during these Sunday meetings but if you are there in advance and if you share your details with the security, usually they share the same with Amit Ji and then its up to him to meet you.
I missed the Sunday opportunity as i was planning to visit Mumbai on coming Saturday. The next day i heard that he left for Nagpur to shoot for his latest movie Jhund, which changed my plan. So i decided to fly to Nagpur to get a glimpse of him and possibly meet.
I had no direct connection with Amit Ji and i was taking help from some friends who are in touch with Amit Ji but there was no direct help available which can grant me an appointment or so.
When I landed in Nagpur on Friday, I checked in the same hotel where Amit Ji was staying (Radisson Blue). I had two chances to meet him i.e. once when he goes out to the shoot in the morning and second when he comes back from the shoot in the evening. I was told that in the morning as he is going for the shoot, he has less time and he usually dont stop to meet people.
I waited patiently in the morning and he came out around 9.45 AM with his security guards, i approached him from his left stating that i came all the way from US to see him, he gently replied to me and some others there saying “in the evening”, i was still trying to approach him and managed to get within 2 meters of him, where i was able to handover a folder i got for him which had some of his rare pictures from 70s-80s. My dream came true when he took that folder from me. That was the highlight of my meeting with him, I hope he saw the pictures and liked them.
