To find : The ration of

(a) the expenditure to the income;

(b) total money received to the expenditure;

(c) income to the total money received.

Solution :

a) Expenditure = Rs.6000

Income = Rs.10000

The ration of the expenditure to the income is

R=$\frac{\text{Expenditure}}{\text{Income}}$

R=$\frac{6000}{10000}$

R=$\frac{3}{5}$

The ratio of the expenditure to the income is 3 : 5.

b) Expenditure = Rs.6000

Total money saved = Income - Expenditure

Saving=Rs.10000-Rs.6000

Saving= Rs.4000

The ration of the total money received to the expenditure is

R=$\frac{\text{Saving}}{\text{Expenditure}}$

R=$\frac{4000}{6000}$

R=$\frac{2}{3}$

The ratio of the total money received to the expenditure is 2 : 3.

c) Total money received = Rs.4000

The ration of the income to the total money received is

R=$\frac{\text{Income}}{\text{Money recieved}}$

R=$\frac{10000}{4000}$R=
