A takes 6 hours to complete the work

So, part of work completed by A in 1 hour= 1/6

Similarly, part of the same work completed by B in 1 hour = 1/9

Work done by A in 1 hour = 1/6

Work done by B in 2 hours = 2/9

Work done in 3 hours = 1/6 + 2/9

=3+4/18

=7/18

Work still left = 1-7/18

=11/18

Answer:

(i) Work done in three hours = 7/18

(ii) Work left = 11/18

Step-by-step explanation:

Take LCM of 6 and 9 = 18

So, let there be 18 works to complete.

A does 18/6 = 3 works in an hour.

B does 18/9 = 2 works in an hour.

So work completed in 3 hours = (1*3 + 2*2)/18 = (3+4)/18 = 7/18

Work left = 1- 7/18 = 11/18
