Does geographical isolation of individuals of a species lead to formation of a new species ? provide a suitable explanation.

Yes it will leads to formation of new species(called speciation) .

For e.g.

If a species of birds stranded into two different islands, the species may eventually break off into two separate, distinct species.
That is based on the survival adaptations of the surrounding environment of these two different bird species.

That's why geographical isolation leads to speciation.
