Given -

  • AB = 5 cm
  • BC = 3 cm
  • CA = 4 cm

To find -

  • Area

Solution -

Heron's formula -

  • \sf{\sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}}

To find s -

  • s = \sf{\dfrac{a + b + c}{2}}

Substitute the given values.

= \sf{\dfrac{5 + 3 + 4}{2}}

= \sf{\dfrac{12}{2}}

= 6

  • s = 6 cm

Now, substitute the given values in Heron's formula -

= \sf{\sqrt{6(6 - 5)(6 - 3)(6 - 4)}}

= \sf{\sqrt{6(1)(3)(2)}}

= \sf{\sqrt{6 \times 6}}

= 6\sf{cm^2}

  • Area = 6 \sf{cm^2}
