∴ using pythogoras theorem,

OA2=ON2+AN2

132=ON2+122

ON2=132−122=169−144

ON2=25

⇒ON2=5cm

Similarly for ΔOCM

OC2=OM2+CM2

132=OM2+52

OM2=132−52

OM2=169−25

OM=144

=12cm

∴ Distance between chorts

=OM+ON

=12+5

=17cm.
