Ab and Cd are two chords of circle with centre o at a distance of 6cm and 8cm from O. if the radius of the circle is 10cm, find the length of the chords​

the distance of chord ab from the center is 6cm

,the distance of chord cd from the center is 8cm

here triangle abo is a right angle triangle

so byy Pythagoras theorem

ob^2=oa^2+ab^2

6^2=10^2+x^2

x^2=100-36

x=√64

x=8

means chord ab is 8cm

similarly.

od^2=oa^2+ad^2

ad^2=100-64

ad=√36

ad=6cm
