Ab electric bulb is rated 220v and 100W. When it is operated on 110v, the power consumed will be :
I knew the answer I want to know, why can't we calculate current. Why we have calculated resistance.

Answer:

R = 2202/100 Ω = 484 Ω. This is the resistance of the bulb. When V = 110 V, power consumed = V2/R = 1102/484 = 25 W. So, 25 W power is consumed when it is operated on 110 V.

Answer:

25W

Explanation:

Ayushi, In this question we have calculated resistance because, for a GIVEN CIRCUIT, resistance does not change it is constant.

But for electric current, is dependent on the POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE/VOLTAGE provided to the circuit and we know this by OHM'S LAW.

solving this question we get,

P= V²/R

R=V²/P

R= 220*220/100

R= 484 ohm

now, again using

P= V²/R

P=110*110/484

P=25W

I hope it helps MARK ME BRAINLIEST
