Displacement is the smallest length bw the two points
So displacement=2 R
Distance travelled will be equal to two and half revolutions
So distance travelled=2πR+2πR+πR
5πR

The displacement of the particle is 2R and the distance is 5πR.

Given,

The radius of the circle is R.

A completes two and a half revolutions of the circle.

To Find,

The distance and displacement of the particle.

Solution,

The displacement of a particle is the shortest distance traveled by the particle.

Now, on completing 2 and a half revolutions of the circle, the displacement of the particle will be

Displacement = 2R

Now, the distance traveled by the particle will be

Distance = 2πR+2πR+πR

Distance = 5πR

Hence, the displacement of the particle is 2R and the distance is 5πR.
